Friday Favorite

Todays post is for one of our favorite furniture designers Martino Gamper, he has created some really super pieces in his time and still impresses us with each new piece he does! A couple of our favorites '100 chairs in a 100 days' and the complete dining experience, 'Total Trattoria'! Definitely worth checking him out if you haven't already!

Nice Sneaks

Totally diggin' the new range of Nike sneaks in collaboration with Liberty! They were hard enough to get first time round so I hope at least one of us in the Peagreen studio gets thier hands on a pair this time!

Mervyn Peake

We were in Chichester on Friday visiting the Pallant House Gallery to see the Robin and Lucienne Day retrospective. As luck would have it they are also showing a collection of illustrations by Mervyn Peake. Originally brought together for the major exhibition in Switzerland last year at Maison d'Ailleurs it includesTreasure Island, Grimm's Household Tales, Captain Slaughterboard, Rhymes without Reason and six detailed charater studies of characters from Gormenghast.

We were absolutely blown away by the detail in the illustrations. He was truly a master of pen and ink.

These photos really don't do them justice. If you can, I recommend popping along to Chichester to them in the flesh ....... amazing!

April Fools

On the 1st April 1977 The Guardian added a 7 page supplement commemorating the tenth anniversary of the island San Serriffe's independence. Along with the support of themed advertisements from major companies readers were took in by the typographic puns and play on words. With people calling up their travel agents wanting to book a holiday to the island, San Serriffe became on of the most successful and famous hoaxes. Ha,ha!
